REFLECTIONS

Lumpini24, A 45-stories residential project, situated on the busiest back road intersection of Sukhumvit24. Surrounded with highly-traffic both vehicular and pedestrian, with rich-urban context of café/hotel/restaurant/other residential projects. The developer agreed to give part of the plot for a public park.

Beside from its normal functions, we intended to create a landscape as art with pieces of sculpture  that capture-reflect the richness and complexity of its context inwards-outwards.

Pieces of sculpture were designated incorporated with landscape plan. The main piece was selected  through the closed invitation competition of selected sculptors/artists.

The fixed design elements/objects had been designed for its functional and landscape-as-art purpose to set the foundation of captured images.

ANGULAR-REFLECTIONS

As part of the perimeter wall, it had been created to view as sculptural-wall that can be viewed differently from both sides.

Main function is to give the privacy and buffer the view from outside, however the residences can view the surrounded skyline without seeing the busyness of traffic on the street.

Viewing from the outside, the highly-reflected/angulated stainless steels were pieced at various angles to reflect and capture surrounded buildings/cars/pedestrian walker/ trees and sky. Its captured-reflective images interact with the movement of vehicular/pedestrian direction. The reflective panels also give the luxurious image to this high-end project.

In contrast, the inner material is a pure white marble that sit on the top of the tilted- lawn. The main 10meter tall  colorful 3-GRACESsculpture is in view with the background buildings/trees grove in the park.

REFLECTIVE-SUACER

located at the main drop off as  the dropoff roundabout. The highly-reflective- stainless steel saucer and water flow shall capture sky and vertical elements beyond from various angles including the colorful-3GRACES.

ILLUSIVE-REFLECTION

This polished-StainlessSteel/2-ways concaved_6.00m tall panel is located  as terminus vista at the opposite end of the given public-pocket park, from the intersection, on axis with the 3-GRACES and act as a screening public view into the project.

The reflection of it concave plain gives an illusive-images when moving closer/away from the piece.

The nature of highly-reflective StainlessSteel, Odd shapes/sizes, required a highly skillful contractor. Final procedure had to be hand brushed for its seamless plains as they are too big for machine to handle. With the vision of the developer&throughout painstakingly effort of both designer and contractor, Thus, the landscape as Art pieces stand beautifully to reflect and capture lifes and movements of Sukhumvit 24 intersection.
